Default 4L60E, help changing output shaft.

Bought myself a performabuilt lvl 2 4L60E off ls1tech and didn't realize the 2wd was different from the 4wd...so now I need to change the output shaft. Wanted to just verify this is the correct one: 4L60E Chevy GM 4x4 Transmission 13-1/4" OUTPUT SHAFT | eBay

Also if anyone knows how difficult it is to change, or what a shop may charge?

The trans also is without a bell housing, but the one off my current 4l60e should swap over correct?

You will have to pull the whole trans apart to get the out put shaft out. Its one of the first hard parts that goes in...

Might be a few hundred to have a shop do it for you. It might be best to call for local prices.

I see you are planning to be cammed/procharged, in a heavy SUV. Get a billet output shaft, and have that trans freshened up while it's apart. As said, the trans has to be completely torn down to swap the shaft, so you're already there.

Get a billet output shaft.

The trans is a performabuilt lvl 2 with only 3k miles so idk what should be freshened up.

Any idea where can I find a billet output shaft?

I have been getting them from either CK performance in Jersey or TCS in Arizona.

Several companies sale them, I am not sure who's actually making them. If you search 4l60E billet shaft you might find some more answers on who sales them. I am not sure that any one company's shaft is in better so I guess it comes down to customer service and price.

Since its a PB why not call and ask them. I know they had packages to freshen them up and give you a warranty, since it would have to be torn down to install the shaft they might be able to do something for you.

Have you noticed any difference between any of the companies that sell these shafts.
