Default 4L60E to 6L80E?

Is it possible and if so what all would need to be done for it to work? Also is it even a good idea?

Not worth it.

Do 4l80e instead or 6l90 if you want the 6 speed.

Depends on your goals. I had a guy tell me his buddy's cammed 5.3 and 6L80 was running low 12's, if I recall correctly..all motor.

You'd likely need the regular stuff for a transmission swap
The transmission, cross member would have to be modified, likely slid back, probably a shorter drive shaft. if you have hptuners someone maybe able to build a tune for your truck. As far as plugs I have no idea.
