Default 4l60e 2wd to 4wd

how hard is it to change a 4l60e 2wd over to 4wd?

Chage the tailshaft housing as far as I know. 6 bolts, o-ring and the 4wd tailshaft housing needed.

I think the output shaft has to be changed out too.

The output shaft is the last of the internal pieces to come out...everything else has to be removed to get to it. Doesn't sound too easy to me

Ya, I have changed an output shaft, and you have to take all the guts out to get to the snap ring the hold the shaft in. Not super hard with the book, but I HATE working on transmissions, lol

hey if u are serious about this pm me im wanting to put mine to 2wd so ill sell u tranny transfer case differential axles hub bearings and all

truck is already 4wd, trans is on its way out and found a cheap rebuilt 4l60e trans 2wd, and was just trying to find out how hard the tail housing and tail shaft swap was. But thanks for the offer
