I don't know at this point I'm more concerened about just getting my truck back and being able to do what I need to do.

I do know I'll put more press on getting the parts for the 80E swap now. Only have the spacer and flexplate.

Very true it's just a matter of luck, it could be something from the supplier was bad and it went into my trans. I'll find out once I get it back. I do trust the guy and his work but you have to remember that it is not the one guy doing the work he has several employees and they could of made a mistake during the build.

I treated this trans just like the others from the jump and this one just had a bad part or something. I'm frustrated but not pissed, I do understand that things do happen.

Not to put FLT or Performabuilt down but they are not the only transmission shops in the USA I know their stuff fails also. Some have better luck then others.

you say something from supplier was bad?? BS. Its the shop, they had 6 times to fix it. Are you going to allow them to have 6 more tries at it? I dont think so... Those sponsors are not the only trans builders, true that. But they have experience that most dont have. And even still, I bet you can blow one of their trannies in a vehicle that is heavy enuff, with enuff power.

Use the correct tranny for your application. a 60e should have never been applied to a truck period. but we got to blame GM for that.

Yes I am saying that COULD be a reason, example my sister bought a brand new mini van and with in a day it has serious problems and it only had about 22 miles on it.

This is the forth time that the shop has rebuilt it, the first time I supplied the TC and it went and wiped out the trans 6 months after the rebuild and it lasted 13 months. I give the doubt of the fact before I give someone hell.

First time it was rebuilt at the dealership under warranty, second one was built by him with my supplied converter. It was a Fuddle converter. The one last week was cause of the planetary going and whipping out the rest of the trans and today is unknown as of now.

I agree that the 60E is not the best choice for the trucks but it serves it purpose for the average guy just hauling a toy or a load of lumber it was not made in the masses for racing or adding additional power.

You dont need a flexplate and spacer.

You can get a converter from PI that has a 60e bolt pattern on front that will mate to the 80e, Thats what i did.

You need the VSS connector from efi connections.

The crossmember is easy to mod.

You need the 80e dipstick, and new trans lines, just one actually.

And you need a shorter driveshaft, i used the yoke off my stock shaft and had a 3'' steel shaft made, works great.

Kysilverados thread is what helped me most for the info.

Correct, there are lots of builders out there, if you or anyone plans to use a 60e in these heavy trucks, I'd have Vince B or Rossler build one,

The stock front shaft fit good enough?

I'm guessing Vince B built my 60E, due to the VB stamped after FLTLVL5 on the trans case. That thing took a beating. It's too bad the converter took it out because I would have really liked to know how far I could have pushed it in my big turd. Now someone at FLT is rebuilding it. Hope they can build it as good as Vince did...

RJ, are you going to run a stock 80E with shift kit? or have one freshened up?

IF.....you do decide to have the 60e rebuilt again, make sure you have the corvette servo, not the billet, make sure to have stock 1-2 acc. springs. Make sure 2nd gear feed hols is no bigger then .083, If you have the wide 2-4 band get the stock width band, and check that line pressure isn't turned up much higher then stock for that shift.

Sonnax makes a HD 2-3 shift valve that supports the forward sprag when in the shifter "3" position. Get this as well and race in 3 to support the sprag
