i got a 95 chevy with 288,000 miles,the other day going to work i went around a corner and the truck kicked out of gear and then a bang as it went back in gear.the trans would only shift if i lifted off the gas ,then it only had i,m thinking 2nd and 3rd gear.then i stop and tryed it again and the same thing.what i didn,t know was there,s no reverse either.on this trans where are the shift solenoid,s.inside the pan or on the left side i don,t know any thing about these trans but what a friend told me.need help.oil look,s good .oil level is topped off.

 

You have no 2nd ,4th or reverse, You do have 1 and 3 , You have a stripped sunshel . With that number of miles time for a trans.
