496 stroker / stall / trans ?'s
I'm building a 496 stroker BBC with a turbo 400 trans. This is going in a 1959 GMC pick up all steel body.
My question is, what sponsors would be a good one to call for the trans and also via my cam card what stall/converter do you all recommend?
Ill add pictures of the progress of truck shortly.

My opinion. The stall will depend on many things, compression, weight, rear gears, etc but I would think 2500 to 2800 rpm would be plenty. Without knowing what you want to do with the truck its hard to say even if the cam is good. Is an odd grind but given the right mix of parts should be OK for a street truck as long as you have decent compression. As for transmission, TH400 is the way to go and if you want overdrive, add a gear vendors unit. I don't know that your going to get a modern transmission with electronics to make you happy but that's a guess on my part. A 5 speed would make that thing a blast!

its just a run around truck, nothing to radical. its an all steel body (4000+ pounds I guess) , 4 linked rear and tubed slightly and IFS front, with hydro boost BS
11.1CR is the goal and still make some power on pump gas. mid 3.50 on the gearing, The rear tires are LT 29x18R20.

I've not made my mid on the carb or injection. The sniper system/kit seems to be pretty nice and self tuning. I'm open to anything, just never messed with a carb.
I'm still researching intakes also, any suggestions?
I went with the 3.50 for if I do hit the hyw for a short trip. maybe it wouldn't be so spun @ 70mph
