Default 4l60e 4x4 output seal

2003 silverado 4l60e 4wd. I took out the transfer case because it was leaking between the transfer case and transmission. The fluid is red so I'm assuming its transmission fluid. Am I right to assume there is not an easily serviceable seal on the output shaft and that the only thing keeping the fluid in there is the seals on the adapter?

That's what I thought. Thanks.

The nuts holding on the t case were a bit loose, so hopefully that explains the leak.

A driveline vibration will cause the nuts to back off.

So there's no output shaft seal on this style then correct just ext. Paper gasket and the rubber ring bolt seals keeps fluids in .. my transmisson shifts fine just losing fluid
