Default 4/6 drop with 20's... Need Help!

I have 285/50/20's right now with stock suspension.

I want to drop it 4/6 and sell the 285's and get 275/45/20's.

My question is will the 275/45/20's with a 4/6 drop fit with no rub.
Also would a 4/6 drop be perfectly level, I hate the back to be higher than the front.

Also, what is backspacing? You mean I can't just put on the drop kit and throw on the tires?

Does anyone have any pics, that would help me alot!!!

Thanks,
Nick

I'm pretty sure it'll rub with the 275/45's. There is a guy on GM Fullsize that had a 4/7 and 275/45's and I think he had to roll the fender lips. Oh, and a 4/6 won't be perfectly level; you'll have to get a 1 inch shackle to level it, and when its level it actually looks lower in the back.

Just roll the fender lips and you won't have a problem, it's not a big deal to do.

Backspacing on the wheels determine if it sticks outside the fender or if it tucks within the fender. What wheels do you have and what size are they? ie 20x8, 20x9, etc I take it since you are asking about backspacing you don't know what the wheels have correct?

Correct, I have no idea, I bought the 20's used, Thier chrome BBS RW's
here's a pic of them:

WHAT DO YOU MEAN ROLL THE FENDERS???

I'm new to this kind of stuff, I just got my liscense, I'm 16.

Ok guys, let me re-phrase my question.

What is the lowest drop I could go without any problems or bad ride quality with 275/45/20's I'm pretty set on the tire size. Also I want it level!

I bought my truck used semi-pimped out, & I don't know if it has been lowered a little or not, how can I tell?

Thanks,
Nick

Rolling the fenders simply means taking a bat, hammer handle, etc. and gently prying on them to tuck them up and out of the way.

Most people will put a rag between the handle and the fender so it doesn't scratch it and pry against the tire. Doesn't take too long either. I'd think you could do a 4/6 on tires that big. I just heard that taking a full left turn tends to make the truck rise until you get out of the full left turn ??

Just buy 2" rear shackles no problem there

...if you like ride quality....look into getting beltechs new kit with spindles. It's supposed to be a good kit. > http://www.truckaddons.com/Catalog/s...weringKits.htm < go here to read about the spindles

2/4 would be an easy, good looking drop without any worries. A 4/6 would be radical, low, you will scrap speed bumps like me, but it looks really good. On a single cab I think a 2/4 would be best for you IMO.

do a 2/4 for now imo. A 4/6 is pretty low for static. If your set on a 4/6, learn all you backspacing and how it works. If you do go with a 4/6, dont go with a tire over 29" tall. Just take your time and do it right, get the right parts that will fit so you wont be buying things twice.
