4.56 gears slow me down what the hell!

Cool 4.56 gears slow me down what the hell!

alright guys went to the track last night at gainsville fl, it was a overcast and was sprinkleing a little my first run then stop so it was humid which before gears was 2.2 60 foot 15.002 1/4,at 91 now since volant intake ,4.56 gears and a street tune and my 60 ft is the same which i should at least lowered on that from going from 3.73 to 4.56 gears
2.2 60
15.3 1/4
87 why is my trap speed so low ?
what the hell went wrong hear because this pisses me off.

High gearing will create less top in, so you burn through your gears much much quicker and get off the line quicker but can't run as fast.

I'm not an expert though

which why didnt my 60 drop at all and im reving more in the powerband at the end im confuse

not enough top end power for that steep of a gear.

He's right, with the 4.8, you probably don't have enough power for that gear ratio.

Yeah 4:56 are a lil much, the 4:10s seem to work really for the 1/4. I bet she is wound out on the highway with those gears.

What size tires were you running with the 3.73 and what size with the 4.56

i was running the same size tires 265/50/20 which u guys are saying not enough topend but once i get up past 90 my truck keep going as before at 90 and up my truck was slow and also i though i would of at least lowered my 60 ft
thanks also it revs at 2400 at 70 and 2800 and 85 so its not really that bad which it hauls *** on the highway i love how it pulls without kicking it down

In your case those gears are best for 1/8 mile. All things considered... just my .02 cents
