exactly, but it seems like he's on the wrong website if he's planning on keeping his truck stock.

If you think you need a warranty you bought the wrong vehical. **** put $1500 into account and let it build interest...

I agree with everyone else. I have 100K miles on my 04 and the most expensive thing I have HAD to replace was the diff. For the most part unless you abuse your truck it will go well past the 100K point without any issues. As has been mentioned, between aftermarkets and used, you can replace most anything on these trucks for very little and save yourself a lot of headache dealing with the dealership.

In short, put the $1500 into something fun and don't worry about it.

I was pondering the same thing, but I asked myself, what is there on my truck that I cant fix for 1500? Not a dam thing. So no extended warranty for my 06! Luckily I still have almost 22k and 2 yrs left on the factory one!

yeah mods below blew my tranny at 37K. all i did was put the stock PCM back in before i took it(i lost 3 gear). they said ok well we will get a rep here to look at it and let you know. i said no you fix now and give me a rental. he said well...i said wheres the service manager. he gave me a slip so i could get my free rental(got shitty in a malibu). i think its good insurance, i have gap insurance as well. as long as you do nothing internally to the tranny or motor, they cant say much. my dads 03 4x4 has had the a/c compressor, transfer case, and hub assembly changed out under warranty.now his gas gauge is wacky, and just had the sending unit for the temp gauge changed(out of warranty). things happen. get the 100K.
