Default Quick Help Needed

Got the lowering kit installed and done, went to put the truck down and the bed is sitting on the tires!! It is not supposed to be this low. It is a 6 inch drop out back, w/flip kit and notch. The tires are 275/45/20 so I know they are not to big. Only thing left I can think of is the rear leafs are lowering leafs? How many leafs or bars (do not know what they are called) are on a stock leaf spring on a 99-02 Sierra or Silverado? Or if anybody else has an idea, feel free to share it with me. Thanks for any help.--Tony

Ok, I think I found my issue, The previous owner had a 2/4 drop on it.....I removed the rear shackels and replaced with stockers but I did not think to look at the front of the leaf at the hangers, I think they are aftermarket. Can anybody post a pic of what the stock front leaf hanger looks like? I want to compare a pic of the stock one to what is on my truck and see if they are the same or not. I am about 100% sure this is my problem, but I do not want to start buying more parts if it is not.--Tony

If the hangers are bolted on they are aftermarket. If they are held on by rivets, then they are original

is the leaf spring bolt in the center of the frame in the front? or is it slightly below the frame, A stock hanger will allow the bolt to be removed under the frame through a small opening in the support. Also, do a search for leafs and or hangers and compare yours.

They do bolt in, I thouhgt it was kind of strange for them to have four 1/2 bolts holding it in, lol. Silverado the leaf is in the center of the frame.....well kinda. A buddy of mine came by a little while ago and his 99 Chevy PK has a totally different hanger (stock one) then mine.....so I now know mine are aftermarket. Can factory replacement hangers be purchased from a GM dealer?--Tony

taking the 2" hangers out might not solve your problem. especially when you drive it and hit bumps. your offset might be a little too far out. my 275/45/20s didnt fit causing me to have to roll my fenders out with a bat.it will lift it back up, but im saying you might have a travel issue with your wheels. pictures will help alot to guide you better..
