Default 4:10 gears are in

Hey guys just wanted to give all a little heads up I finally got the 4:10 gears put in the truck this past weekend its a 2010 truck with a 6l80e trans. I have seen a lot of post from guys wanting to know how they really are. Awesome GM should put these gears in stock from the factory. Highway driving with a 31" tall tire is about 2050 rpm and around town driving is just insane the truck moves so much easier and takes way less pedal to maintain and get to speed... I havent had them in long enough to figure gas milage but will keep you posted.....I will be offering complete kits from gears to fluid so pm me if your interested in pricing......

you say it takes way less pedal to get it moving, what gears you change from? thinking about going 4.10s or 4.30s from 3.73s

Wonder what difference 4.10's would make with the 6.2L. I have 3.73 right now

prolly not too much of a difference from the ratio you already have but it would help some. what size tire?

OEM 17's right now. Eventually I will get some 20's for street and if money allows some slicks for the track.

For you guys that were asking I went from a 3.42 to the 4.10's and i am running a 285/45-22 on tire. I still cant tell you what the gas mileage has done cause the fun factor of the change is still there so I cant get my self to drive normal. But with that tire setup and the six speed tranny and the 4.10 gears at 70mph i run right at 2050 rpm....

Do your 4.10's whine? I just had 4.10's installed and they whine from 35mph and up. It took awhile for him to do as he said kit came with .010? shims and he needed some .005 shims to get it right. Not sure what brand the gears are. Bad install or bad gears?

Sounds like it just needs proper shimming.
