Default 3.73's to 4.10's or 4.30's

I'm thinking about changing gears in the silverado.. current mods are.. LT headers.. 2.25 in tru duals.. 2600 stall. and nelson tune.. running on 33 inch tires..its also 4x4 btw truck currently has 3.73's and im wondering if it would make much difference to go to 4.10's or 4.30's. this is my weekend driving / fun truck and occasionally makes longer trips so i wouldnt' want to high of an rpm on the highway. what do you all think.. stick with the 3.73's or go up to 4.10s or 4.30's

Stay where you're at, then when it blows then change it. It's not worth dropping the $$ if it's not broke. I went from 3.32's to 4.10's and that was a HUGE difference.

I would say the 4.30's with the choices you have listed. Mine with 4.10's and 29" ties is at 2100 rpms at 60 mph. It cruises very nicely.

yeah, 430 or 456 even. On 33's 456 would be like having 373 with 30" tires, I believe its 1 gear size per 1" of tire to keep acceleration at stock. So if you had 31's stock you need 4.30 to be at stock again....if you go 4.56 you will gain a little getty up over stock.

I'm not 100% sure about that one though...I recall hearing that from someone in the offroad community, or reading it in an offroad mag or something of the like.

I went from 3.73 to 4.56 with 30" tire and I turn 2500 rpm at 70. I love them plus I have a 3600 stall and its 2wd. I went to 4.56 bc I wasn't shifting out of 2nd in the 1/4 and I was crossing the traps at 105. Just my .02

Considering your 33" tires, I'd go with 4.30's and I feel that you'll notice a difference. I've gone from 3.73's to 4.11's in past vehicles and felt a difference, but everybody is different. I currently have 3.73's but plan on 4.10's in the future (my tires are 31" tall, and hopefully someday I'll have the 29ish-30" tall setup that I want)

I'm leaning towards ASP. I believe Texas Speed has them. Call for Trevor, Matt, or Jon.
