Default 3/5 lowering and ride quality

One of my friends just got a 3/5 drop on his extended cab. new coils, shackles, leafs, and shocks

He just got it yesterday and I went for a ride today. It felt like there was something wrong with the truck. The ride was bumpier than a Uhaul truck. We were shaking even on smooth pavement. I was amazed.

Is this normal? does it take shocks a few miles to set in? installation problems?

What kind of shocks does he have on? Toxics really blow, i would suggest doestch shocks. He needs a C-notch for the rear if he doesn't have one already. On the 99+ chevys a C-notch is required anything under 4" rear drop.

Im going with a DJM 4/6 drop kit on mine. And everyone I talked to suggested everything listed above.

the shocks came with the kit (ground force i think)

the place that installed the kit suggested a c-notch for suspension travel especially if towing; he didnt get it done since he doesnt tow

i will tell him to go back and talk to them about it

looked like he was on the verge of crying after spending the money to get it lowered LOL

I know what you mean shops be charging arms and legs to install them drops now a days. Im going to install the drop with my buddies or with my dad we got all the tools and all it takes is simple knowledge!!!

I would strongly recommend a C-notch doesn't matter if he tows or not. You are right the C-notch allows suspension travel and stops any bottoming out that might occur. I have never heard of anything about Ground Force shocks ,but the notch should really help!! Tell your friend not to worry about the notch they are really, really reliable!!!!!!!

I Got A 2/4 On Mine And I Had To Cnotch It Or When You Went Over Railroad Tracks Or A Big Bump It Bottomed Out With No Bumpstops In It. After The Cnotch The Truck Rides Like Factory Again.
