Summit shows them as Richmond "Excel" under that part number.

I've never had richmonds in my truck either. I've always used Motive.
OP, I went from 3.42 to 4.10's in my turbo truck. Obviously both have there advantages. I equally like them both. Driving around town, I like the 4.10s with the 80e. Not in the converter as much and I just like the feel and shift points better. 3.42's on the highway is just ****. Highway pulls with both gears are super fun. With my current converter and engine/turbo/brake set up, both ratios are about the same off the line. I can build more boost with the 3.42's so the 4.10's don't really help much with my 60'. But the 4.10's are more efficient down the 1/4. To sum it up, I like both ratio's equally. Not much of a help to you but it just depends on your main goals for the truck.

They can be noisy just like any after market gear. IMO since pretty much every truck on here is modded, it is best to shoot for the tight end of the set-up specs.
Shoot for 0.007" backlash, 20 in. lbs. pinion bearing preload (with pinion seal installed), and for the most part, a 0.037" shim behind the 4.10 pinion will land the pattern between the root and crown of the gear teeth nearly every time.
Lastly, when the backlash is set, the shims will need to fit tightly. In other words, it will need to take effort to remove the diff.

Both of my 3.73 truck's have Factory 275,55,R20's Basically all stock.
3.42 truck has 265,75,R17's. Basicaly Stock with a 2500 Stall converter to make it more driveable. I had to retune all the shift points to make it driveable around town. The converter helps but I still hate the gears.
IMO the 3.73's offer the best trade off between City and Highway.
If there is someone in your area with 3.73's I would see if you can test drive the truck and see if you like it.

I've got 3.73's in mine and I recently changed to smaller tires. If I compared it to having stock tires, it would be like having a 4.00 gear set.
And yes, it's freaking awesome off the line and not too bad on the highway. Runs about 2700rpm at 75, still gets 18MPG.

Is your tire size 26 inch tall with the 4L80?
