Since I bought my cc with a 4.8 like a dumbass not realizing just how bad it was gonna be with the DBC throttle body etc. Etc. I figured it needs all the help it can get.
I decided on the 4.10's over 3.73's due to the 32" overall tire height. Had a few hatred warn of the horrible gas mileage I was gonna get after the swap, so just in case anyone is scared of loosing a whole bunch of mileage, I went from about 20.5hwy/15.5city to about 19hwy/19.5city. It drives much easier getting up to speed, maintaining speed over slight hills, and can easily climb the Miss river bridge in OD with the converter locked.
I haven't had a chance to put many city miles on it and expect a little decrease in traffic, however everything I've seen so far seems like it's picked up a couple mpg in town and only lost about 1.5-2 on hwy.
In other words, don't be scary!! :cool

I am with you. My last truck had 3.42s and I found my cc and it was everything I wanted except it had 4.10s. I was a little worried at first, but I love it. I guess the nbs get a little better mileage because I don't quite get that, but mine is not too bad. I have gotten 19.2 on the interstate but that was babying it. average around 17.5. That was better than my last truck.

This reminded me of how much I hated having 3.23's on my truck and then I upgraded to 3.73's and wow what a diff. Congrats on your new gears! its gonna feel like a totally diff. truck.

I originally bought my '04 specifically lookin for 3.42s among other options. They blend HWY MPG & all out top end pull if that's your thing & some giddy up w/o killin mileage. Where I'm gonna get my Truetrac from, he showed me how little the RPMs would go up by goin from 3.42 --> 4.10s. He said on a shorter tire, it's more severe, but I'd only lose ~400R's at most @ 70MPH cruise. I rarely go HWY, more a mix or city type. Lately, I've been rackin my brain wondering if I should jump to 4.10s.
But ****, u didn't just gain a couple in city, u gained 4!!!

I can get 3.73s or 4.10s for same price. Or stick w/. what I have. My stall takes a lil oomph to get it to move. But after it does, say midrange of 25-up, she pulls & I believe w/. less effort, therefore helping mileage IMO. Also, if I went up in gear, it may help lower effort to get moving (which is now when I believe it's using most gas). But it could be from spirited drivin since I never had a stall.

Radix will help it pull too; i just gotta decide on gear or not. Glad u like it!
