Default 22" wheel and tire combo with a 2/4 drop?

I am looking at the KMC KM651 slide rims in black and I have two options for offset and am wondering which would be better. One has a 38 offset and the other a 15 offset. The rims are 22X9.5. I tow with this truck so I don't want a crazy low profile tire. I was thinking of the 305/40/22 but am open to better options for towing and general usage. Also wondering what people's opinions on brand of tire to get. Thanks a bunch.

I have the 305/40/22 on my truck and love them. They only rub the slightest little bit when I am turn completly to one side or the other. They might be a little big for your setup though, I don't have drop, just leveling shackles in the back. I run the Falken STZ04. I am happy with them, they seem to have goo wear to them and they are xtremely expensive. They have have enough sidewall so if I accidentky rub against a curb it doesn't scrape the rim.

Forgot to mention this is on a 05 crewcab with the short bed. I will be running a 2/4 drop with helper bags in the rear. Planning on a 2 inch spindle drop but don't know who the best to go through is. Also don't know the best way to accomplish the 4 inch drop in the rear. I hear with the crew cab you are limited from the other trucks. Maybe I need a 285/45 or 295/30 instead of a 305/40 would be better?

You want the 38 offset so it will tuck under the fenders. As for a tire size, the 305/40 is going to be too big. A 285/35/22 would work great

285/35 is what i run on my 22's with a spindle drop up front and i get a little rub when i bounce! but just cause the way my loose suspension is! I wouldn't go bigger than that on the tire though! and yea you can run beltech or mcgughys spindles and ya gotta get shackles and leafs for the rear!

Well I ordered the kmc km651 slide rims, 22x9.5, all black with 38 offset and the 285/35/22 toyo's today. Should be in tomarrow. I'm stoked about them and will post pics asap. Monday I'll call about the spindles, leafs, and hangers once I get a better view of the truck with the new shoes. I think the all black wheels will look really nice on my all white crew cab. Thanks for the help guys. Any opinion of bell, jdm, etc... spindles and leafs. I hate the way the truck rides on parts of the freeway so hopefully with new shocks, leaves, and such the truck will ride better. Anyone have a preference on shocks? I don't care on the cost. Just want a nice riding truck. The *** end bounces down the freeway here in so. cal.

Size: 17.0 KBHey bro. Great choice of wheels. I just installed kmc vent 22x9.5 with 265/35r22 coopers. Im also lookin for the 2-4 drop. I have mixed suggestions from co-workers of spindles&flip kit or spindles&rear leaf springs....me lost. My crew cab is black and looks sick!!!! THEY SAY BELLTECH DROP SHOCKS GOOD TOO. NOT SURE. WHITE TRUCK WITH SILVER POLISH AND BLACK WHEELS WILL STAND OUT NICE I THINK.

Well I went with a 3/5 drop from djm. I used the stock spindle and did the lower control arm. On the rear I did the spring under or "flip kit" with a 1 inch lift shackle. It looks awesome and I will try to get some pics up. I did c-notch the frame and I don't think you can get away without it. It was sitting on the stock bump stops when I flipped the springs under the axle and put the 1 inch lift shackle in. Now I have about 5 inches of uptravel before the axle tube hits the new bumpstop. If I hit into a dip at speed I can hear the front tires rub the inner plastic fenders but it is very driveable as a daily driver and not have to worry about bottoming out on everything. It goes over speed bumps just fine and the tires rarely rub anything. I don't think I will have any trouble hauling the boat but I do plan to put in air bags in the rear to help keep the truck level with the greater tongue weight. Overall I am happy. The truck is definitely stiffer and I don't know that I am totally impressed with the shocks that came with the kit but for now they are staying.
