Does my 4wd take the same 8.5" ring&pinion in the front as the rear?I have 2 sets of 4.10's 8.5 10bolt from older trucks.

I'm not sure, but it sounds like its def. worth finding out, by the times in your sig, the 4.10s ought to help that time quit a bit. If the gears end up not working I would prolly go 4.30's or 4.56's . you got the mph for low 15's, just need the gear to do so.

For the front, GM used the 8.25” with a reverse cut ring gear in the 1988 – Current ½ Ton trucks. For the rear, GM used the 8.6” with a standard cut ring gear, which actually has an 8.5” ring gear in the 1999 – Current ½ Ton trucks. What separates the 8.5” and 8.6” apart are the bearing sizes and not the ring and pinion. Both differentials front and rear have 30 spline axles. Basically, you could use one of the sets you have in the rear, but not the front.
