Default 2003 tahoe transfer case

Help my sister has a 2003 tahoe z71 and she just found out today that the transfer case has to be replaced. The mechanic she took it to said that the year of tahoe has some kind of $2 clip in the transfer case and that they wear out, i guess it holds the transfer case from moving around. Anyone HELP

WOW....I have never heard that. I say don't do it, get a second opinion. Ask him what the part number of this "$2 part" so you can research it. See how well he handles that.

That clip holds the oil pump in, and when it breaks it wears on the case and eventually wears a hole in it.
