Has anyone heard of this? I'm not sure if a previous owner possibly put a leveling kit and overtorqued the bolts, or if it is just a weak spot on the frame. But the frame is broken on both sides. Fortunately, this piece appears to be replaceable by removing the rivets/bolts and putting a new one in. Or do you guys think this can just be welded back together? In the second pic, the piece is still there, it is just rotated out of position.

I would replace that whole bracket + the shackle bolt.

How many miles? I've never seen this before.

My ex's 99 RCSB had the same thing. She got it welded up and its held fine.

It has 200k and is a delivery vehicle, so it goes through all kinds of hell.

Thanks for the quick replies. I figured since both sides were broken that surely it has happened to someone else. The owner and I did not have a clue. I crawled under to put a new exhaust pipe clamp (notice the coat hanger lol) and that's when I noticed the cracks. It has probably been like this for months.

Finally got it repaired. The shop added some reinforcement.

happened on my old 03 silverado, had a leveling kit from previous owner and we didnt notice it until we went to put a flip kit on. I had put about 50k miles on it since i had owned it at that point so no telling how long it had been like that. Just took it to the exhaust shop and had them weld it back together.

Wow, can't say that I've seen that on a GMT800+ truck yet...glad you got it fixed up!
