Default 2001 1500 just put 265-60-18 on now...

my front sway bar is squeaking, like a bed if you bounce on it. I had 245/70-16 on there, 18's are just wider. Do I need an alignment or what. I noticed a lil creeking with the 16's but now it is horrible, just bouncing the front end with both hands. Torsion bars, sway bars. There is about 1 3/4 rake from front to rear, same as 16 in wheels. I dunno

Help ?

Would it make sense for longer or shorter end links,
about a good in or 1.5 wider

265-60-18 30.5 inch 10 in wheel

245-70-16 29.5 inch 8 in wheel

Rim and tire size wont change anything with your sway bar.
look under to make sure nothing is rubbing, but the sound happening when you changed you tires sounds like coincidence.

Are you stock height? i have 265-60-18's on my 3/4 dropped truck with no problems

Edit: what rims are these? and how is your turning, that is when the swaybar can be a problem at full lock

spray some WD40 or something similar on the coil springs and the sway bar bushings and see if that helps.

PB blasted all rubbers, bought 08 z71 wheels for my 2001.
I have the truck on my lift, as soon as the wheels touch the floor, maybe an in of travel it starts squeaking all the way through the travel.
Odd very odd ?

The truck has been in storage for 2 yrs, the bushings look good,

those 18's are not 10" wide.plus the offset is different so there putting a different load on different parts.how many miles are on those stock parts?

I would guess its you upper or lower control arm bushings making the noise, you should not have any clearance issues.

Put stock wheels back on, making same noise, wasn't making noise on the way home from work.
If it's the upper or lower control arm bushing, would the sound travel through the sway bar, cause if I bounce it , I hold onto the sway bar and it feels like the noise is coming from there. I will look more into it after work.( I work 3rd shift, ouch )

Thanks
