Default 2/4 shocks and questions....

Ill be doin a belltech 2/4 with coils and hangers this month and im wanting some opinions on shocks. Ive heard the bilstiens are the best. I dont haul much... maybe a yamaha warrior every now and then or a foreman on a light trailer. What are my options here? Ive heard a lot about dif types, toxic, edelbrock, bilstien but i want opinions on all of them.
Also a round about price figure would greatly be appreciated.
Will i be needing any shims or wedges for the pinion angle?

Can i drive it on the stockers until i get the drop shocks?

Is it better to go ahead and buy new bump stops or just trim the stockers?

How long can i drive it before i get an alignment?

Sorry it got lengthy....
Thanks
Derek

I have some addon power, so I wanted a stiffer ride I want with Bellteck Nitro-Active Shocks Front#10018 - Rear#10572. I hear good things about the edelbrock, bad things about the toxic

the front is ok but the back you may want to get them soon.

I cut the front on my 2/4 drop, I think one nip and it has a 3/4" open space, I put new bumpstops(install the stops right to the frame) it came with this kit it also give me a 3/4" open space, Hotchkis 4" Lowering Leaf Pack With Special Carrier Bearing Bracket, Transmission Spacer, Shims And Polyurethane Bump Stops Are Included With Each Spring Set. #2403.
How long can i drive it before i get an alignment?

I ran my stockers for about 6 months wit no probs.

As for the toxics that’s what im running, I don’t seem to have any probs wit them.

Just trim your stock bump stops.

+1 on the steering asap

my sierra is also 2/4, click the sig for pics

For shocks, I hear differing opinions on both the Toxic and Belltech shocks. Some say they are the worst, and others like above say they have no problems. I personally haven't had any experience with either. Bilstiens are nice shocks, but they are valved on the stiffer side for more performance out of them. A lot of people run Doetsch Tech shocks and like them. Some say they are a little stiff, but still run them over some others. Edelbrocks are also another favorite, but many don't want to put the money on them. I think I heard they stopped making them for lowered apps, but not positive.

Personally I have run summit drop shocks, nice and real soft, and QA1s. The QA1s are what i have now and I can adjust them from soft as a caddy, to firm as a tank. Only drawback to them is cost.

As for shims, it depends on the truck really. If you get a vibration after the install, then yes you need shims.

And for an alignment, I hear it takes 500 miles for the springs to settle to their final height. I would get one within the first 50 miles(sooner the better), and then have it checked after the 500.

I recently installed edelbrock drop shocks and theyre awesome. I'm not sure but I think the shocks that were on there before were stock. That sure explains the ride quality. Part #'s for front 33023 and rear 34023..kind of expensive but worth the money.
