Default 15" steel wheels

I know the topic of fitting 15" wheels has been discussed before and beaten to death. But it seems that everyone is refering to aluminum wheels which are considerable thicker. I have a set of 15" steel wheels off my car that I measured yesterday, and it appears the I.D. will fit over the rear brakes and caliper. I can't actually bolt them on beacause of the different bolt patterns, but I can hold it up to it.

Do you guys think this is plausable? Has anyone tried 15" steel wheels for their slicks? I'd love to go with 16" wheels and be done with it, but they just don't offer slicks for 16" rims in the sizes I want. I don't think I'd be giving up much in weight either, in fact they're probably lighter than my 20's.

Could you elaborate on what exactly needed to be grinded? It has to be less than what it would need to be for aluminum.

Holy hell, how did I miss that thread? Thanks man those pics say it all. I think I'm going to go this route as soon as I get the ***** to run slicks.
