14 Bolt Swap Complete - Pics Inside

Update, the 14 bolt out of a nnbs works in the nbs trucks also, I did this and everything bolted up, the only thing I did was put my backing plates off the 10 bolt onto the 14 bolt since my wheels wouldn't fit the nnbs disc setup and since I had done the suv upgrade previously

In today's lingo that is correct, however for us that has been through several body changes, it does tend to get a little confusing. In my case from the '60's on, the new body style doesn't mean a lot anymore, and instead is just easier referring to them by their official designation, such as GMT-400, GMT-800 and/or GMT-900. I'm sure there are quite a few more members that have been through a couple of more body styles than I have and are setting back and thinking which new body style!

From your post I'm assuming that my guesss is correct... i.e. that nbs is new body style and nnbs is newer new body style. If a guy is in his 20's or 30's I guess that works. For a geezer like me it still works but as you said ....
I don't know what GMt-400 etc means either but I guess that's the way GM referred to their trucks. I'm tempted to look into getting a fabricated rear end just for the cool factor. I know that the 14 bolt would be a lot cheaper but the fabricated housings are just very cool. The one factor that keeps me from moving ahead with the fabricated rear is that I have a hand built 24 gallon fuel cell under the rear of the bed and the fabricated rear housing wouldn't show. I don't think a person could see the fabricated rear unless they crawled clear under the truck.... but I still want it

I have Centerline 20's and 14" rotors on mine so do you think it would all bolt up?
What is the suv upgrade?

There again, the “SUV upgrade” is just a common terminology that people have adopted for the dual rear piston caliper, larger/thicker rear brake rotors that were common to the SUV’s and are being swapped to the trucks with lesser units. What is a misnomer is that they were just used on the SUV’s, as the Sierra C³, Sierra Denali, Escalade EXT, SS trucks, ECT. also used the same components.

the 14 bolt i got for my truck was out of a 08 silverado vortec max, at first i was worried because the shock mounts are different on the 07+ trucks, but theres enough play in the shock bushings to bolt them up, and also it already had disc brakes on it but since i only have 16inch wheels they wouldnt clear so thats why i transferred my original brake setup over, so if you have 17inch wheels or larger no need to remove the o.e. brakes....
