Default 14 Bolt Swap Complete - Pics Inside

I had the 14 bolt swapped in today. The 2005 VHO 14 bolt was a direct bolt in.

For those interested in doing the swap...
The factory disk brakes will bolt up.
A 1320 to 1350 conversion u-joint is needed with the 1350 straps. (I will eventually put a 1350 yoke on the driveshaft.)
The driveshaft does not need to be cut.

The 14 bolt is much heavier and the axles are way bigger! I would say close to 50% larger.

Just wondering, haven't searched at all, do you know, say i got that same axle (my truck being rear disc) would i just hook the brake lines to the new axle without modification?

Also looks good, it looks like a tank compared to the 10 bolt.

You need to remove the disk brakes and bracketry and bolt it onto the 14 bolt. The disk brake do sit at a bit of an angle, but bolt up ok.

I got the rear end in gmfullsize.com, and someone was parting out an 05 VHO.

Uh oh, I told the guy at the driveline shop I needed a conversion u-joint and I believe that is what he said it was. I will check today and verify what adapter u-joint it was.

Thanks! I looked for a few months before I found one. They are not easy to find either. It only ended up costing me $850.00 shipped. I could not pass up that deal.

I changed my name after Bill, Henry, and Julien suggested it. What can I say, I never leave the bar early. LOL

Yes, I am hoping this rear is stronger and does not give me as much grief as the 10 bolt did. I still need to install an LSD. The G80 that is in there now sucks!
