Default 14 bolt rear.. Drums or Disk?

The 14 bolt 9.5" rear I bought should be here Friday. I am debating on which brake set up to go with. The rear end is coming complete from drum to drum with e brake cables. I also have the Baer Eradispeed rotor kit for the rear brakes.

What would be better to go with, drums or disk?

I'd leave the drums, at least for now. If you don't like them you can convert later. I personally like my rear drums better than the '03s which had 4 disc. I do have the larger rotors and upgraded calipers up front though.

I might just keep the drums and sell the Eradispeed's. I guess I will install the rear with the drums and see how I like it and go from there.

I would run the disks since your portioning valve is probably set up for disks currently. I think there is a difference in the volume of fluid required for disks and drums and possibly even a difference in pressure.

I vote for discs. I went from disc disc (F-150) to a Disc drum (silverado) and the drums don't have the stopping power under a load. It also seems that they have more pedal travel then others out there (I believe hydroboost cures this). I know they are two different trucks but w/ the same trailer and same bed loads the Drums just seem to fade as the stop continues.
