14 bolt questions

Default 14 bolt questions

second g80 finally finished off today........is it worth the effort or cost diff to go with a stock lsd 14-bolt or go back with a good aftermarket diff in my 8.625....... if 14- bolt is good choice wat all needs to be changed besides its obviosly 8 lug but im really wondering about u-joint and yolk match up

Just buy one in a 6 lug. The U-joint will have to be changed, yes. What is your power level though? A 14 bolt may be excessive.

My cousin bought a 9.5in 14 bolt off a 2005 SS that had a cab fire. Everything bolts right up except the parking brake, I think you need an extension or a different connection piece. Also theres a basterd u joint needed and thats it. PM and I can find out the exact number to that U joint for ya. But believe me it's worth it, the rear end assembly only weighs 33 more pouns than the shitty 10 bolt. Also, he got his for 1700 dollars with tax and it only had 700 miles on the truck when pulled.

hp is around 450 at the crank maybe a hair more perfomabuilt stage three trans and 37 inch tires......first good stomp with new tires left about 50ft posi black marks then good pop all she rote

do they make the ox locker for the 14 botls yet. When i re gear id like to go that way with a selectiable lockers.

With that heavy of a tire it should have a 14 bolt, I agree.
