if you can get it warrentied it'd be worth having them put an open back in there and install a detroit locker. i believe the 10.5" gm is the only diff that a detroit locker uses the stock case for.

Detroit Locker

Get that sucker fixed up bro. Avoid the wife's wrath and the ridicule of tech members. It's a fine line to walk.

I figured it at least last one track day, that can't be right, right?
I know the G80 is weak, but damn, not that weak

as tempting as that is bro, I really think I need something stronger, hopefully my ring and pinion are ok though.

she did get me home, so maybe its not terrible.

Have you seen 10.5" g80's go out like that before?

Welcome to the blow 14 bolt club. My g80 doesn't like my big block very much. Mine will spin both when it wants to but it makes very loud bangs when turning, it sounds li8ke a shot gun. I am going with a Detroit Locker, they are cheap and strong as hell, **** that piece of **** g80. The only problem is you have to get a carrier out of an open diff 14 bolt because the detroit cant be put in a carrier that already had a locker in it. Moregrip, how hard was the Trans Go shift kit to put in? The directions are confusing as hell and Im not sure I wanna do it myself. Thanks

Alex

Not hard, but tedious!

I used the factory manuals, ATSG manuals, TransGo Tech line, and the best resource of all, James B
