Default 06 2500 rear end under an 03 1500 ???

have a few questions?
1. will it fit?
2. what all does it take to convert it to 6 lug?
3. does the drive shaft have to be modded or anything of that nature?

my rear end in my 03 is fucked and found a good deal on an 06 2500 hd rear end but was unsure if it could be done and be cost effective?

1. more or less
2. custom axle shafts or new hubs, either option is several hundred dollars
3. yes, you need a conversion u joint

to keep the back 8lug and the front 6 lug, all you need is a conversion ujoint, the spring perch width and shock width should be the same, but measure first of course.
