Default 01 Tahoe Z71 Supercharged ''Tranny Problems''

I have a 01 procharged Z71 tahoe 4x4 with headers, computer upgrade and magnaflow exhaust, I'm running 9 pounds of boost..It has a 4l60e tranny and its slipping real bad. This will be the second one that I've had rebuilt.Should I upgrade to a 4l80 or have a speed shot try to build mine stronger? Any input would be great..Thanks

Yes I would go with the 4L80E. Alot stronger than the 60E.

look in the projects section, its being done right now and doesnt look so cheap, I would go with one of the builders on the right and get the best transmission you can afford

I'd go with a built 60E or 65E from one of the vendors here before jumping into all thats involved with an 80E conversion, just my $0.02.....

I was once down that road. I would highly suggest Performabuilt or flt.. I was pondering going with a unheard of name tranny compan(well at least on here they are) but from reading, looking, I decided to go with performabuilt.. There is a reason the 99.5 % of all the peeps on here are running one of Pbuilt or flt trannys. Thats cause they actually stand up to the **** they say they will. If you don't plan on building it up any more, a built 65e from either company should do the trick... Or if you want to be done forever go 80e.. I am on a 60e lv2 performabuilt, it hasn't missed a beat......

Think about it. your in a HEAVY vehicle pushing A Lot of power. Would you rather TRY something and hope it works, Or go with something that has already been tested and proven time and time again?
Rebuilding a stock 4l60e and putting it back in to a vehicle like that is a waste of money and only buys you a couple months. If that.
Go with a build 60 or 65e from one of the sponsors here. Or if you want to spend a little extra on the swap get an 80e from one of them.

If you want to TEST an ebay transmission and hope it works. then do it, It's your money.

If you look through all the blown transmission threads. they are either running stock 60e or a "built" 60e from someone local or unknown. There is maybe 1 or 2 busted 80e threads. There was even a "bullet proof" transmission in the classifieds a while back, built by a local builder to the owner, that needed FIXED. How does a Bullet proof transmission need fixed?

Thanks for the help guys I wasnt for shur which route to go so many options.Theres a guy on the ls1 page from xtreme transmissions thats been telling me his would work. But I didn't no anything about him.His thread is in the automatic transmission section under 4l60e and 4l80e sale. There a great price but I don't no anything about them.Theres people on there that have bought them and loved them.It seems to me that alot of people on here go with performabuilt or finish line, I think I might go that route. Thanks
