1FastBrick i actually had it pulled back into my radiator that also cools my engine oil and coolant, I live in cali gets hot out here every summer without the trucool 40k it overheats in town city driving gotten up to righ in the 300F range and while driving wouldnt even cool down. i put the trucool on and now i have to WOT several times just to get it up to 200F but then after few mins it drops back down to 150F usually. I'm going to stick with the trucool cooler. Thanks you though appreciate the insight. Everything appears to be ok i have no codes. going to Harbor Freight to pivk up a infraed camera to and see if my temp gauge is playing games with me if that doesnt check out then im planning on checking my line pressure while driving and also installing the derale oil pan they sell that has those cooling tubes through the pan.I been told by a diesel mechanic that its normal for 4L80e to run at 220F but my personal choice woiuld be nothing above 200F. Do you guys have any info on line pressure specs while driving and underload conditions?

Yes with the factory temp sensor im adding some pictues i took of the trans cooler temp with a harbor freight infraed camera i have yet to point it at the pan as its currently raining in california. any chance of a air bubble in the system? it has a breather tube the trans i can't post the pictures will try later but flow coming into cooler is reading 108F and going out reading 80F while my gauge is reading 177F

I've never had a trans temp sensor fail but anything is possible. I've never been able to get my trans temps over 200 no matter what I've done. I'm curious to what your issue is.
I keep my EFI Live interface box with me when towing so I can keep eye on Temps vs looking at the dummy gauges on the dash. Sometimes the trans temp gauge reads higher than my datalogs do. And coolant temp never moves off the mark before 210 but I can see the actual number on the interface box..

The transmission gauge on my 01 (same truck as yours basically) reads "slow". The actual temp can be up to about 10-15F higher than the gauge displays, and then somewhere around that 15F difference, the dash gauge will move up to the next point closest to that one. This is comparing what the computer says vs the dash dummy gauge.
So you can't trust your dash until you have verified with some type of OBD datalogging device to see what actual temps correspond to on the gauge.
