Has anyone try using helium instead of air in the tire... They told me is lighter and better??? I know they use it in the new challenger and the wheels with tire are super light....

LOL, "They" was jackin with you. I'm no Dodge guy but I would bet it's nitrogen they put in the Challenger. Not because of weight, but because it doesn't expand or contract as much as regular air.

I havent said anything besides if people don't wanna shed weight, then don't. I for one do, and am all ears to some items people have pulled to trim some dead weight. Thats what this thread was supposed to be about, not about people that don't wanna do weight reduction. Weight reduction to me is just another mod, another thing to do to get from a to b faster. I have not removed anything that has limited its use. My wife drives the truck daily, I have 2 kids that are in it all the time.

My main point though was that you don't run it exactly how you DD it either, whether it's weight reduction, or a tire change, it's still changing the setup for the track. Your truck wouldn't run a 12.7 with a 1.7 60' on street tires, just like someone who pulls out their entire interior for the track is going to run slower with their DD setup (not that anything is wrong with doing either, or both of those things).

It's really just all about doing what you want to go fast... I use to take weight off of my stangs to get a little edge on the F bodies at the track and even go as far as yankin the belt off, but at the end of the day I knew what I ran in street trim... it's fun squeezen every little bit out sometimes... Especially if it gets you that 14.99, 13.99 or whatever... Just good fun

Well, a lot of good this thread has been....I was actually hoping for weight reduction input, oh well. I really have done pretty well with all the smart *** comments like the " I took 30lbs out maybe I can get a 14.ox". But ya know, I think its stupid as hell to some into a thread that is Clearly about weight reduction, and say I just need to add power. Well maybe at 14.1 with a full bolt on cammed 5.3 u need a better combo, if I spent that kind of money and didn't run any faster than that, I'd go shoot myself in the face. Point is, if it doesn't relate to the thread keep your mouth shut. I care about weight reduction if u dnt, great.
Rant probably not over becuase I'm sure someone will be butt hurt. But I really don't give a f#@k.

Point taken about removing stuff u dont use ie dont tow ditch the hitch... but one thing to consider is the heavy things bein removed like rear bumper for roll pan, hitch, and spare are all being removed from the rear which could hinder traction on these truck which already dont weight transfer well... maybe some more front removal stuff or weight relocation ie battery to the back would also be informative.

I agree about too much weight coming off the back as biased as they already are in the front. I would like a fiberglass hood, ill get some light 17's, and call it ddone.
