It's crazy how much these new trucks weigh, My 79 rclb 4x4 with a all steel big block weighs right around 4900lbs I add 400 in weights and myself to get to the pulling class maximum of 5500lbs.
I will go and weigh my 09CC today. and as for the haters It can only help milage losing weight in your truck if you dd it.

I'm actually in the process of starting a small business producing and selling carbon fiber hoods, fenders, and tailgates and possibly a two piece door setup. I'm just trying to figure out if there will actually be market for them when I build them.

Do you have any particular goals?

Sometimes it's easier to add power rather than shave weight.

Bringing up an old thread.

Im no stranger to gutting weight with my old single cab duramax that was 5300lbs.

I plan on removing the overload, spare tire and tire carrier, adding a fuel cell, removing front sway bar (maybe) gutting the interior, removing the HVAC and blower motor (55lbs total) and removing the AC. That is a solid amount of weight that I don't need.

I pulled the front sway bar and I didn't like the loss in handling. I'll be looking for a hollow sway bar in the near future. I will be doing some cutting in the next couple weeks and follow the Dirttrackracer81 weight loss plasma program haha. I hope to get race weight to less than 4200 for now. Last check was 4400 with me (235lbs) '04 RCSB. I have a few plans to get it under 4000 easily but will take time and cash
