By no means hijacking this thread but can a factory larger OEM tank be put where my current stock tank is now, along the frame rail? My stock tank in my '00 1500 Silverado ECSB 4x4 is 26 gallons. Often thought it would be nice to replace it with a 32-35 gal factory tank if it would fit.

Stock 34 gallon will not fit. Look up titan fuel tanks.

The larger tanks came on long bed trucks, there is not enough room under the truck/bed portion to make the tank fit properly. I have a long bed gas tank that I tried to install in my shortbed truck. No dice
