pick up tube size for dual external 044s
#1
First question is it possible for an externally frame rail mounted Bosch 044 to pull the fuel up and out of the tank and into the pump without loosing its prime each time the truck is shut off? I realize it would be better to pull off the bottom of the tank and let gravity feed the fuel to the pumps but bare with me. Here is what the inside of the fuel tank looks like:

It looks like a decent little sump already built into the stock fuel tank. Its open at the back to let fuel in and wind its way around in a clockwise direction until it gets to the center where there is a pretty fair size reservoir for the fuel pump or in this case pick up tube.

Its probably not ideal but I would rather install a pick up tube and sock and draw out of this internal baffling then to cut/weld/install a sump in the tank, if it will work.
