Default Little help here?

Ok..the parts list is getting shorter.

Trying to set up the fuel system for my build.

Holley Hi Ram on a 2000 Silverado. Return system.

I haven't bought injectors or for yet. These are the parts I'm trying to figure out.

The motor is a Thompson Motorsports lq9 with cnc LS3 heads.

The future may include a power adder of some sort.

This is the first non carb build I have done.

Have been looking at posts trying to figure out how everyone has their rails plumbed.

What is a good fpr to buy?

Injectors?

Open to any and all suggestions and advice.

Thanks!

I like aeromotive regulators. Magnafuel and fuel lab are also good. Injectors will depend on power goals and if you plan on boost.

I have feed from filter in back of one rail, crossover at the front, back of other rail to fpr.

Atomic.....just the guy I was hoping would reply.

Your setup is what I am wanting to do. The gauge placement and all.

Would you be willing to share whatever info/pics you can recall?

I could see the Aeromotive logo on the fpr but they all look alike lol.

As for power goals...Should be somewhere around 600 at the crank (I hope).

I did go forged so if I get greedy and want to really break parts we can do more. I was thinking an extra 10psi might help. But will be a bit later.

I hope I didn't got too far overboard with the 105mm holley setup.

I called fuel injection connection, Thompson had mentioned 43# injectors. The requirements for the holley rails aren't real clear. He (fuel injection guy) almost sounded like 43# was a bit small.

Everyone seems to run something different... too much info and not enough people running the Holley.

Thanks for any help or advice.

Yea all my pics are in my build thread, if not posted directly they are in the same photobucket album.

The holley uses ls1 style injectors i think, which really just means the orings are different than the lower (may have this fact backwards...). 105mm is fine. You dont need huge with boost but na likes bigger.

For any boost build i would not do any smaller than 60s and would probably recommend 80s if you think you will be greedy. Also a walbro 450 pump would match those well.

I will look back thru your build again.

I already see a problem coming. The truck was leaking down fuel pressure after sitting. I knew I was going to be changing things up so I called racetronix and got the drop in and hotwire kit. I told them plans but have gone a little bigger. Its a Walbro 255LPH on this unit. If that's not going to be enough I guess I better address that as well.

So how do you make sure to get big enough but no too big injectors? I am ok with buying a different setup if I go FI later. I just want to make sure I have what will work well now.

You can use my spreadsheet that is stickied in the fuel section and you can figure out what you need. I dont know why people still use 255s, the 400 and 450s are newer, better, and about the same price.

Modern injectors its hard to go too big unless you try. Mostly its tuning to get them to behave correctly.

I run my return system the same as atomic, in the back rail, cross over in the front, return out the other rail and into a fuel lab regulator then back to the tank.
I run holley LS rails
injector connections suggested 42lb at 43.5psi injectors for my truck, I run a wet kit so injectors don't matter for my spray.
I really wish I went bigger on the injectors so I had room to grow.....

Ok so I need a bigger pump. Am I going to able to put the 450 in my original bucket? I would hate to cut up this new assembly esp since its a bolt in (I think) for our avalanche that is starting to have a long first crank.

So in your opinion can I get away with 60# injectors? I just want more overhead in case something else changes.

Thanks for the replies.

The 450 is about the size of the stock pump, although slight modification may be needed. I would do 80s.

If I go 80# they should support a little boost later as well correct?
