Trying to figure out how to keep from fuel starvation issues. How do I need to orient the sock and the pump. Kind of confused on how to keep the bucket full with lower gas levels.

The filter sits on the bottom outside of the bucket, so how you have the pump positioned in there is pretty irrelevant. Just need to center the pump so that the tube to the filter can go thru the hole that's already there, just needs to be opened up a bit with a dremel.

So sock on the outside of the bucket? Will the big sock that comes with it be fine? Any starvation issues doing it like this?

No matter what you do with an open bucket like that you will have starvation issues on hard launches with low fuel. Solutions would be a surge tank, fuel cell, or swap in a 04+ tank.

Well ****. Does the stock bucket just hold fuel to cool the pump or help act as a surge tanks? I assume the stock pump/ system would also experience this if there was enough acceleration?
