fuel bucket mod
#1
I'm sure this has been done to death but I can seem to find a good writeup. I am needing a larger fuel pump in my truck and was thinking of putting a 255 in. I have an extra bucket so does anyone have a good write up with pics that I can read ??

U said u wanted a larger pump, possibly a 255.
I think I found the problem. You're tryin to read pics, not view them.

this helped me out
this helped me out

Below, you'll find what I found w/o much effort, but if u need more info, u are gonna hafta look in greater detail or search it. This may help, it's short & pretty to the point.
I read it to see how much different than fuel pump change needed for Radix, & John's is way more modding, but hopefully gives u idea.

I take it to mean u can't find a good write up?

I looked thru what chevyboy.520 posted a bit too, but not really sure how in depth u want. I know it tells u physically how a 255 vs 044 compares.

Just bustin yer chops bro. I knew u typo'd.
I found that section of Fuel System Upgrades after I upgraded my pump. I don't remember that section bein there back in Dec.'11 when I was on here regularly. But since July, I've been back. And stayin too.
Mayve been but when u experience a problem midstream on a job, you'd be surprised what all the sudden u notice.
Panic mode can do that. I'll throw up some pics on what u don't wanna see. As many on here had no idea. I gotta get my pics up / downloaded, but when I do have em all set, you'll understand.

As I said, here's pics.
U don't wanna see this, but if u live in Rustbelt, or near coast, corrosion doesn't play favorites.

Look where steel lines meet nylon. There are O-rings, the black behind O-rings is supposed to stay inside lines. I asssure u, u don't want this problem. :bang;
All nylon lines entering fuel pump module likely don't suffer from this either, I'd think. As what John has in link I had in that other post. This big retaining clip should come off as 1 pc., not separate into 2.

There is little modding that needs to be done for a 255 to go in the stock bucket. You will need to get a new filter/sock and a hot wire kit, or do your own. Thanks for posting the link Tom
