Best way for an lines off the factory sending unit

Default Best way for an lines off the factory sending unit

I know there's a few threads similar to this but I wanted to know if it would be better to use a -8 bulkhead for a single Walbro 450 or just use the factory feed off the top of the sending unit and use a an adapter and run -8 from there.

If I use a bulkhead I'll use the feed off the top for the return and cap off the factory return and just vent the evap or would it be better to go ahead and vent both?

If UPS would have delivered my damn lines (instead of fake delivery where they drive by) I would know by now if the factory feed can support 450s. I previously ran on all stock fuel system and was starving hard for fuel up top. But the way the stock lines go, the fuel has to go thru a tiny hole in the regulator and then feeds the rails. So I think that is the restriction.

If you take a look at the output pipe of the walbro, it's only 5/16" in diameter. I do believe resistance is a function of diameter AND pipe length. So my thinking is a 1-2" section of 3/8" isn't going to mean squat in the grand scheme of things.

I should of said that I have a 01 return style and I'm going to be using a holley hi rise with -8 from the tank and y into the back of both rails and the regulator in the front. -6 return line back to the tank. Just wondering what the best way to go about getting the fuel from the tank to the -8 an line.

Just put the Russel quick connect to -8 and -6 adapters on the hat.

What about the evap? Just leave it open or put some kind of vented cap on it so no dirt gets in it?

Which fittings do I need there's 2 different types. Russell pn 644003 is a 3/8 to - 8 and it says for lt1 and ls1 and then pn 644133 looks to be the same except it doesn't say it's for ls1 or lt1. And there's 2 different options for the 5/16 line as well. Just wondering which are the correct ones

Make sure to get the ones that have the screw on fitting. The quick connect ones have been known to come off
