Default Anyone with Walbro 450 in 05+ Bucket

Looking for some ideas of how to get my 450 into my stock bucket and making it work right. Im switching to return with a -6 return -8 feed

Looking at the stock system im still a bit confused of how everything works

heres what im working with

what is the black sensor? does it need to stay?

from what i can tell the left tube is a drain and right tube is where it pulls fuel from tank? Not exactly sure how im going to get fuel into the bowl being im going return style

walbro 450 is just a touch to big at the base, thinking of drilling 2 holes in the side of the plasic and using a zip tie to hold it in place

I hacked the **** out of my bucket to get 2 of them in there. Very unorthodox, but it works....and still retains the bucket to avoid fuel starvation. The blue canister is a fuel filter and the black sensor is for tank pressure. I left the sensor in and drilled a big hole in the empty space in the sending unit hat for a bulkhead fitting. Pump power goes in through another hole that was drilled in the hat and JB welded

fuel filter? There are no lines going in or out of it, there were 2 vent hoses hooked to it on the outside i figured maybe it vented pressure or evap

Im only doing a single 450 i dont mind modifying but i want it to work right. thinking about cutting a spot out of the bottom then have the walbro sock on the outside of the bucket, then run my return to where it drains into the bucket. when i measured the overall length of the bucket vs how deep the tank is, so it would put the sock right close to the bottom of the tank

Maybe its evap...been a while since I've done one. I ripped all that **** out anyway. Simple wins.

The bucket should sit on the bottom of the tank in the first place. You shouldn't have to put the pump sock outside the bucket. That would defeat the purpose of the bucket.

The blue thing I'm pretty sure is your rollover protection valve or whatever. That way if you roll over, fuel does t roll out your evap system.

Just attach the pump to the center plastic section. I mocked mine up with plastic zip ties trying to get the height right so the socks would sit on the bottom with both of mine, but same principal with one.

Forgot the pic. And mine are only 400's but it should be close to the same way to mount one. Just drill through the center section to run your zip tie or hose clamp or whatever.

The last picture is where I ran my new supply. You could do the same for your return.

My setup is a copy from Atomic's setup. Have to give him credit for that.

ok, so just curious how does fuel get into the bucket without that regulator pulling it in? I ll have the return putting some in but other than the tank being over 1/2 full how will it fill up?

The bottom of the bucket has two (maybe three, can't remember) one way rubber valves in it. They let fuel into the bottom of the bucket but doesn't let it out. At least that is how mine was. I might still have an extra bucket that I can get a pic of the valve when I can get over to my shop.

That is why the bucket is spring loaded to the top mount of the bucket. It is to keep it at the bottom of the tank. In turn allowing fuel to flow into the bucket from the bottom.

I'm still pretty new to this setup myself. But we don't learn if we dont ask right?

ok that makes sense! between those and what the return puts in there it should have no issues.

Mine has the 2 rubber deals. is it normal to only have 1 spring?
