Default 450lph pump and stock FPR

Will a Walbro 450lph fuel pump "over power" the stock, return style, fuel pressure regulator?

I am installing a fuel system in a 2000 Silverado and would like to avoid changing the stock fuel rails at this time.

just changing the pump will not affect the regulator's performance.

I thought that a 450 was too much pump for the stock regulator?

I don't see why it would be on a stock fuel system. Ahh, I see his build now. It looked like he was just asking about a stock regulator doing its job with a 450 pump.

If that's the case I'm not sure why one would skip out on a regulator thats built for vacuum and boost. Or at least known to be functional at all times. Personally wouldn't rely on the stock regulator under boosted conditions.

Even if it was on a stock build I still think it over powers it. Can't remember though

Correct. The regulator cant flow enough at idle to maintain pressure with a 450 pump, so youll have very high and unpredictable fuel pressure at idle which makes tuning it difficult.

How about a Aeromotive 340LPH pump?
