23 Silveraydoh XL Gas Tank
#1
Got a stupid question. Titan fuel tanks makes a bigger gas tank for the 3.0 duramax. Any way to make it fit on a Silveraydoh with the 2.7 turbomax?
I bugged Titan about it but they can't tell me anything because it's against EPA regulations or something. I live in Canada where I will have no issues adding a bigger gas tank, just don't feel like dropping $1500 to find out it's not going to work.

Unlikely that anyone on here has tried it, so it's will always be a roll of the dice.
The only thing you can do is research each tank. It will need to be able to fit the gasoline fuel pump bucket and hat. So if the diesel pump assembly is the same size as the gas assembly, then that would fit. Then you need to see if it has vent lines and what all is connected to the tank on a gas truck. If the diesel tank is missing them, you must add them to the new tank.

I am going to go on a limb and say no just because the pumps are probably not the same size. You could check this by cross referencing the fuel tank part numbers between 3.0L and 2.7L and viewing the diagrams.

According to GM Parts Direct, the tanks and fuel pump locking rings are the same. In theory, that means it should be plug and play, right? It would just be a matter of making sure all the vents and sensors plug in?

Hallo,
The Titan tank from the 3.0 Duramax might physically fit your Silverado 2.7 TurboMax, but the issue lies in the differences between the fuel systems – diesel and gas engines have different mounts, fuel lines, and pressure requirements. In Canada, you won’t face legal issues, but before investing, it’s worth consulting a shop or checking forums. Some modifications may be needed for proper installation.
