Default zl1 MAF?

Guys, I just installed a Trick turbo in my 06 Sierra Denali and was wandering if a zl1 maf sensor would work in my truck? I have a friend with one that was pulled off his car and I thought this would be a better maf since that car is supercharged i figured it would be a better choice...if it isn't too much trouble to swap.

I am looking for other solutions rather than going speed density. Your input is welcome and appreciated.

The problem isn't the MAF, it's the computers ability to recognize more air flow. You can get around this with tuning and a 4" MAF housing, but you need a good tuner who can "scale" all the air flow tables to make the PCM think its flowing less air with smaller injectors, but still adding enough pulse width, "fuel" to keep the AFR in check. It's kinda of trickery and some tuners agree with it and some tuners don't. Just an option to stay MAF.

I would recommend using that Maf. And if you you need a tuner you can call us at our shop. Seminole automotive/performance Kenny does an awesome job at scaling that maf. He just finished my truck which made 650rwhp on only 13psi stock 4.8

I considered speed density but that will mean more $$. I have access to a free zl1 MAF and thought that would be easier on my pocketbook.

Seminole is only about 2.5 hours from me...would be something I would have to consider.

Speed density requires a 2 or 3 bar map sensor, right? That cost money...will also need an air intake temp sensor, another expense. This is money I wouldn't mind keeping if I can get a good tune with what is readily available.

I might be delaying the inevitable but if I can delay it long enough to let my wallet recover then that would be a good thing...

You're talking about 60-100 bucks and 100 for the os upgrade....if That hurts your wallet then you're in the wrong game

Yea im thinking the same thing, i understand if you wanna try it to see but if its about cost then it makes no sense, you can pull a iat sensor with rubber bung from a fbody camaro/firebird intake($5) then take the two wires from your maf and splice them to each other, and the highest you pay for a 2 bar is about $60
