I am wondering a couple more things as well.
What will my NA HP be after the build from 5.3l to 5.7l displacement with a Z06 cam?
I plan on about a 9-9.5-1 compression ratio, same as a stock 5.3l hopefully.
With the engine basically being a lower compression LS1 with 5.3l heads.
Can I expect say 330hp from this set up?
There will be no special head work done other than a freshening up of components where needed and possibly some better rods than stockers, as well as fasteners by ARP.

Provided its with stock heads, proper PR length is 7.425" but you can get by just fine with 7.400" length.

LS6 cams will provide the most gains above ~3500rpm.

I have built quite a few LS FI motors currently a TB SS AWD 575awhp and 680awtq [ we have an AWD dyno in house ] Trust me when I tell you the best cam right now is LPE GT7 . 18 inch of vac at idle. Almost 0 lag . my truck idles at 550rpm and is smother then stock . Yeh it's $389 or so but it's money we'll spent . IMO . The 02-04 Z06 cam is good on the cheap works well but I have changed out a few in favor of the GT7. Get some 918's springs or manley nextec 's it will help. but you could use GM yellow's.

I bought the 04 z06 cam. need to get the springs and maybe some hardened push rods. I plan to dyno the truck before and after the cam install. I will keep everyone updated on the outcome!!
