Default WOT shift points on my set up

If fueling is adequate and boost levels are not a concern what would be your wide-open throttle shift points for my truck in the signature?

I would guess the cam is signing off around 6200 but how does it pull?

My cam is bigger and I've found past 6300-6400 mine is better off shifting but I also have a different setup.

Being that its a procharger, I would say higher than 6200. That would be my guess though. I'd probably start at 6600 and go from there.

The higher shift points will put more stress on the trans.

have a dyno graph? to many variables to just randomly guess but being its a procharger youll want some rpm out of it

my little p1 likes to shift high

GMCtrk - yeah man, I broke my 80E twice a couple years ago and that's had me running lower shift points and lower timing.
Since the last break though I've been running some torque management. So now I'm debating on turning it up a little bit because I've only been shifting at 5500.

George C, l've never had it on a dyno. I was kind of just shooting for a rough estimate based on my cam specs and the fact that it's just a stock LQ4 with head studs and LS9 gaskets.

my truck if i shift it lower rpms hits harder and shocks the trans more, by shifting it higher its easier on the trans since its past peak torque and less stress on the trans

a stock 80e with the right tune should hold up well

when im at the track i shift 66-6700 target

George C - do you have a pic of a dyno graph of your procharged truck that you could post?

this was when i dyno'd it with the stock catback with muffler added

when i swapped to the 4" exhaust i gained a couple more rpm and it smoothed the graph out some more and picked up more torque however i dont have a pic of that graph

cam is 218/218 570/570 112

swapped to the 4" and truck made 554 rwtq and went to 545 rwhp, my P1 is maxed out at this level
