i tried the cheapo ebay studs on my big block chevy and popped head gaskets twice... took them out and installed arp head studs(no head re-surface or any work done at all) and havent had any problems in 2 years now spraying it to death on the 175 jets!!

good luck with them if you go that route, just giving you my experience.

All depends on what your time is worth.
Is a couple hundred bucks saved worth me tearing my heads off again, doing a head gasket and replacing studs?

Let me take .05 seconds and think.

No.

At that boost level stock bolts would suffice...I'm happy with my china studs , they have seen 20 psi on my 5.3 by accident a couple of times, and I'm normally at 13-14 psi. By all means if you have plenty of money get the arp's but on a budget I'll get the ching changs any day.

i've read a lot about these over the last few month I was ready to order today even stock48 told me to get some, now i'm 50/50.......

going with arp will delay my built so i can fund them only thing left i need are cylinder head fasteners, lifter trays & fuel rail connections......

this is not going to be a record beaker just a mild daily driver compared to what others have done its not a high end build thats for sure idk.....maybe just some arp bolts instead of studs
