ok guys help me pick one if these cams

info on build 2004 RCSB:
lq4 stock bottom
317 CNC's then hand polished
rear mount turbo (sts style) 10 to 12lb boost
probably meth kit
gas 93 octane (not E85)
FMIC too
4l80E
4.10 gear (trying to swap for a 3.42)

shooting for 500+ rwhp

the cams i'm looking at are close so i wanted to know if there would really be a difference in HP? stock48 suggested one to me and the other to some one else trying to get info from him but he's really tough to get a hold of

cam #1- 215/215, .566/.566/114

cam #2- 212/212, .561/.561/112

so how much power difference we estimating here 10 20 50?

 

If your only shooting for 500, then either cam will do that easy and I wouldn't sweat which one. Difference will be minimal. The "triple 12" is a proven cam and I liked it in my truck. Stock48 sleeps during the day and is up at night. Pretty sure he is a gang banger! Try him after 4pm to 8am Cali time.

 

witch one would be more EPA friendly? when you may minimal 20hp more or less?

i'm just looking to get this thing in mid 11's its a DD think it would be fun to bust up some sports cars

 

Difference will be 1-3%. They are very very close I would need detailed cam specs to give you an EPA answer but both are extremely mild.

 

so would not really make a noticeable difference going with the smaller cam in this case....

it going to take more than 500 hp to run 11.50 in quarter mile.unless ur truck is light lol

 

last owner had it running 11.9x with a 2.2 60' @114 546rwhp i think it was

from what i've seen posted its not hard to get in the upper 500 range at the wheels with a turbo heads cam setup, low 12's hi 11's i'm still happy but really want to see 11.5 run

 

my old set up 500rwhp 7.6x 1/8 mile 12.0x 1/4 long way from 11.50 .good luck
