Default will these turbos be enough ?

Hi everyone, I've got a deal for a pair of IHI VF39 turbo ( of a Subaru STI) From what i've found on google they are rated at 425 cfm/17 psi ( so 850 cfm for both) and seen these turbo pushing 380 lbs of torque on a daily driven 2.5L !

I'm targeting 500/525 hp with minimal lag. Would these turbo be a good match for my 2002 gmc sierra 5.3L???

Don't these turbos have some weird turbine housing mount? I don't think they would be a good match.... Plus I'm pretty sure nobody makes a Hotside that would be a direct fit/bolt-up for the vf39 turbo mounting assembly... I say sell them, and buy a good Precision Or Borg Warner turbo!

I'm gonna see if I can find some specs on those turbos, but just from looking at the pics, it seems like the turbine/AR is going to be way to small for the 5.3 motor.... Even on a twin setup

Yea I'd think you'd be making boost as soon as you started moving.

That's what I was thinking! Maybe maxing them out around 4,500 rpm?

I am a former Subaru owner (Forester XT w/VF39, E85, etc.)

The turbo will be too small for your application. You will have back pressure issues and your powerband will be up way too early to be practical. The VF39 is honestly too small for a 2.5L engine in most situations.
