I have a return style fuel system and wanted to know if the stock fuel pump will feed an inline Bosch 044. I dont want to starve the 044.

I have an inline 255 and am anticipating that it will not supply enough fuel for 8# and a 75 wet shot. I do have meth to supplement fuel.

I am assuming with a 75 shot, I will be in the 625 rwhp range. For those in the 600-650rwhp range, particularly with a return style fuel system, what pump(s) do you have?

One member here did it on a 8.1L truck, and it has worked wonderfully.

Series pumps are not going to support 600 HP. You either need to parallel them in the tank or sump your tank and put a big pump on.

 

Thanks for the link. I just dont know if the stock pump will be able to feed the Bosch. Th 8.1 fuel pump is probably a larger pump to start with.
Like twin 255's?

I was under the impression that with twin pump you need to run 3/4 tank of gas and hack up the fuel bucket.

Do you think a 255 in the tank feeding a Bosch 044 would work?

 

One big bosch pump will work.. The stock pump will allow fuel to be pulled through it, but duno if the stock pump will cause a big enough restriction to not allow what it needs to fuel for you set up.. Put a big one in the place of the 255 and see if it works, keeps the FP and afr happy

Once the bosch pump gets fuel it will pull it by itself. If you are asking if you do the 255 inplace of the stock one, why not just by another 255 and put it in place of the stock pump???

As far as running the bosch or the 255 in place of the stock pump, I have the big bosch, run my tank down to 1/4 quite a bit, with out any issues.. As far as the dual intank, I think it is a PITA, when you can just do a big single, then your not getting into a dual bucket, hobbs switches ect.. So if you currently have a 255 inline, put one in the intank also.. Or keep the stock intank and put the bosch in place of the 255. Or cut your bucket up and put the bosch in the tank..
