Will I gain anything from this?

Hey guys,
Finally, ckd vacuum between the throttlebody and the blower at WOT/Redline and found I have 4" of restriction. Trying to decide if it will be worth upgrading the throttlebody or not as I will have to buy a j-tube or modify mine, buy the throttlebody and the x-link. Lot of money if it's only a tenth.
Anyone have similar results and upgrade? Much difference? Thanks.

Read my thread here. https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...-mp112-485856/
It's a very worthwhile mod, in my opinion.

Not to hijack the thread, but what exactly is needed to do this swap.
* 92mm Throttle body
* 90MM J-Tube
* Will stock MAF work?
Not sure what else is needed..
Truck is 2000 cable driven with MP112. I'm looking to possibly doing this, just want to know what all is involved. Thanks and sorry for the hijack.

Check out the difference in the j-tube openings.

This is the stock Maggie air inlet tube, on the MAF side. Small.....

The stock MAF is also small, around 3.25" inside diameter IIRC. My opinion, get rid of it, go 4" all the way. The stock airbox lid is 4" by the way.

I guess I didn't exactly answer your questions though.
You need the 90mm j-tube, a 90 or 92mm throttle body, a gasket for the throttle body, parts to build a 4" air intake, and a retune.
Many have used the stock magnacharger plastic air inlet with their 90mm throttle body setups, along with the stock MAF. It will typically all bolt up, and it will run good that way(still has to be retuned though). But why spend the money on the j-tube and throttle body, to get limited gains. You'll still have flow restriction at the small MAF and small air intake tube.
To me, it would be like installing headers, catless y, and a dual 3" exhaust system, and putting on 2" tailpipe tips.
